Why Proposal Versioning?

Quote-LinQ producers need visibility into the % and $ premium savings driven via the Stop Loss marketing process.  To support this, the product will be introducing workflow that imports and stores proposals by versions.  An indirect benefit is that all users will have line of sight into different proposal versions that have been created over time for a better start to finish audit trail.

Proposal Versioning

The management and guidelines of Proposal Versioning are the same for RFP Issuers and Carriers/MGUs.  Enclosed is a link to an article that is key to understanding the new fundamentals. 

Quote Manager -> Edit Proposal

When an RFP Issuer clicks on Edit Proposal in the Quote Manager, they will now view an initial screen that displays the Proposal Version(s).  This screen provides the management and oversight needed for Versioning and is the same experience as Carriers/MGUs. 

Quote Manager -> Supporting Files

RFP Issuers now have a shared repository under each Carrier's quote.  

• Click on the Supporting Files icon
• A modal will appear providing read, create and edit capabilities.
• The Supporting Files will also denote the Proposals that are associated with specific Proposal Versions; those cannot be edited.   
• Note that you can still use the messaging to send a supporting file to the Carrier/MGU if desired.

Quote Manager -> Download Quote

Since the Supporting File icon provides a new experience, the traditional modal has been moved under the ellipsis menu on the Quote's accordion.  

• Click on the ellipsis menu
• Select the dropdown "Download Quote"
• You can use the PDF viewer and bulk download all of the supporting files for that quote

Additional Information

Updating a Quote from Offline Carriers/MGUs

• While not ideal, there are cases where RFP Issuers must do work on behalf of a Carrier/MGU
• You no longer have to move the quote to Submitted in order to do so
  • Simply click on the Edit Proposal pencil and follow the workflow. 

Contingencies

• These are no longer in the Ellipsis Menu.
• They are in the Edit Proposal Stepper for each Proposal Version

Measuring Premium Savings via Baseline Option

The driver behind Versioning is to capture the premium savings gained thru the marketing process.  As such, Quote-LinQ is introducing the concept of a "Baseline" quote option.  This option will be used in the compare screen to convey savings and will be leveraged for future Stewardship Reporting by management.  

• Using the Baseline
  • A default Baseline will auto assign if it is the first version of a Renewal Option.  e.g.
    • It's the incumbent's quote
    • It matches the current Spec Deductible
    • It is Proposal Version 1
  • The desired Baseline can be edited by clicking on the Baseline dropdown column in the compare screen
